Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Rub olive oil on outside of tenderloin.
In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub spice mixture on outside of beef tenderloin. Place on prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted in center registers 135 degrees or desired degree of doneness. Let stand for 10 minutes. Serve with Mushroom Sauce. Garnish with thyme, if desired.
