Spiced Pomegranate Apple Cider
 
MAKES 8 TO 10 SERVINGS
Ingredients
  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 1½ quarts pomegranate juice
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 large orange (about 10 ounces), halved
  • 1 vanilla bean split, seeds scraped and reserved
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • Garnish: fresh apple slices, fresh orange slices
Instructions
  1. In a large Dutch oven, stir together cider, juice, and remaining 6 ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Strain mixture; discard any solids. Divide evenly between mugs. Garnish with apple and orange, if desired.
