1. Mint Julep Tea

This inventive twist on the classic drink of the Kentucky Derby incorporates mint tea and fresh herbs for a refreshing Mint Julep Tea. Serve this beverage with or without your favorite bourbon.
2. Benedictine Tea Sandwiches
Created in the early 1900s by Louisville, Kentucky, restaurateur Jennie Benedict, Benedictine is a cool combination of cream cheese, cucumber, and onion. It makes the perfect spread for simple tea sandwiches and can be served as a dip for an assortment of vegetables.
3. Mini Southern Hot Browns

A petite version of Kentucky’s favorite open-face sandwich, these miniature hot browns are made with buttermilk biscuits, sliced turkey, crispy bacon, and melted cheese. The original dish was created at Louisville’s Brown Hotel, a grand getaway featured in our May/June 2025 issue.
4. Kentucky Derby Pie Bars
The original Derby Pie was created in the Melrose Inn of Prospect, Kentucky, by George Kern with the help of his parents, Walter and Leaudra. Our decadent take on the classic recipe includes chocolate chips and pecans baked to gooey perfection.
