A Classic Clutch: Artfully Inspired Easter Eggs

A colorful display of pink, blue, and yellow Wedgwood-inspired eggs with books, paintings, and ribbons around them.

Taking cues from some of the world’s most distinctive stoneware, an assemblage of artistically rendered eggs elevates seasonal décor into eye-catching objects d’art.

Wooden eggs painted blue, yellow, green, and pink with white decals attached, and 2 moss bunnies in the background.

Treasured for its matte colors and cameo-like motifs, Wedgwood’s finely wrought Jasperware inspires a cache of handmade Easter eggs that are themselves worthy of being considered keepsakes. Tinted with a palette evocative of cheery buttercups, cloudless skies, and the silky petals of tulips bravely emerging from winter’s long slumber, these palm-sized pretties can be pulled into seasonal vignettes or integrated into tablescapes alongside heirloom china. To create a complementary backdrop, gather a bouquet of creamy roses and variegated blossoms in an ivory vessel. Artichokes can be tucked in the arrangement to add sculptural appeal. Moss rabbits lend a sense of whimsy, each dressed for the occasion with a jaunty bow.

Two blue eggs with a intricate white decal atop it, with pink tulips behind.

Fashioned from wooden eggs that are painted and trimmed with embellishments made from silicone molds and resin—which mixes easily and dries in a soft shade of white—these adornments are presented to best effect when poised atop crystal and silver egg cups or cradled in a rustic nest. For special celebrations, thoughtful hosts may delight in sending one of the charming mementos home with each guest.
