The Atlanta Botanical Garden and More to Explore This Spring

An oasis of manicured evergreens, bright florals, and charming statues, the Atlanta Botanical Garden lured us to Georgia’s bustling capital city for our March/April 2024 “Southern Garden Trail” feature. We’re sharing plenty of reasons to plan a trip to see the gorgeous grounds—from Atlanta’s enticing restaurant and shopping scene to its world-class hotels and museums.

While tulips and other spring blooms dazzle visitors this time of year, the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s impressive collection of tropical flora delights year-round. More than 2,000 species of orchids in various shapes, sizes, and colors are represented in the Fuqua Orchid Center’s two display houses.

Statuary poised across the 30-acre grounds span myriad styles—from this patinaed amphibian to a towering yellow piece by glass artist Dale Chihuly. Whether participating in one of the venue’s first-rate educational programs or simply strolling through, you’ll experience treasures at every turn.

Around Town

No visit to Atlanta is complete without delicious meals, shopping excursions, and sightseeing. Adjacent to the botanical garden, Piedmont Park overlooks Lake Clara and offers an endearing perspective of the city skyline.
