Ring in the Season with the Blissful Holiday Collection, as Seen in Our November/December Issue

Like softly falling snow falling softly all around us, the Yuletide season stirs up sentimental memories of sweet gatherings around a glimmering tree, festive meals with family, or treasured gifts that came wrapped with care. It seems only natural that the Blissful Holiday Collection featured in our November/December issue, a collaboration with stationery brand Dogwood Hill, pays homage to Christmastides of yore.
With illustrations hand-painted by our Creative Director of Lifestyle Melissa Sturdivant Smith, the Blissful Holiday Collection includes gift wrap, gift cards, and gift tags available for purchase as a set or individually.
An array of Neoclassical motifs embellish each carefully crafted item. Graced with regal laurel wreaths, a pair of turtle doves nestled upon a delicate garland, stockings brimming with baubles, and a sparkling candlelit tree set against a pale blue background, these accoutrements add stately appeal to any setting and evoke the glorious splendor of seasons past.
Motifs for the Blissful Holiday Collection evoke images of fond memories from eras gone by. While some artists are masters of two- or three-dimensional space, Melissa is a purveyor of art that draws one into a multifaceted realm where she crafts visual flights of fancy that transport one to ethereal, imaginative environs.
From her earliest childhood days, when she sat in church sketching bird’s-eye-views of the chapel and surrounding environs, to later painting large-scale murals while a college student, Melissa is perfectly suited for her role. She oversees many of our photoshoots, carefully curating details to ensure the vignettes are alluring.
“I was always encouraged to pursue art, and painting has consistently been one of my favorite mediums,” she says. “Being able to return to painting for the creation of the Christmas gift wrap collection was such a pleasure.”
The Blissful Holiday Collection is a collaboration with Dogwood Hill, a seller of luxurious semi-custom stationery known for eschewing mass-produced designs in favor of products highlighting favorite artists. Dogwood Hill’s attention to detail and sumptuous paper offerings make them an ideal partner for producing gift wrap and other items in the collection. Stock is limited, and selections are not sold in stores, so early orders are encouraged.
