Goat Cheese and Pecan Crostini with Honey
MAKES 6 TO 8 SERVINGS
Ingredients
- 1 demi-loaf French bread
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 (4-ounce) package goat cheese, softened
- 4 tablespoons honey, divided
- ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ cup chopped toasted pecans
- 1 teaspoon fresh oregano leaves
- Sea salt flakes, for sprinkling
- Garnish: coarse ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice bread into 16 (¼-inch-thick) slices. Arrange bread slices on prepared baking sheet. Brush with olive oil.
- Bake until golden brown and crisp, 10 to 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together goat cheese and 2 tablespoons honey until smooth, about 2 minutes.
- In another small bowl, whisk together remaining 2 tablespoons honey, red pepper, and paprika until smooth.
- Spread goat cheese mixture evenly on toasted bread slices. Top evenly with toasted pecans. Drizzle each with honey mixture and top with oregano. Sprinkle each with sea salt. Garnish with black pepper, if desired.
