The tastemakers at Pantone have declared the color of 2024 “Peach Fuzz,” and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome it into our homes. Although it might call to mind the blushing tones of the 1980s and ’90s at first glance, this pretty and timeless hue can infuse liveliness into any room.

We asked Louisiana designer Rachel Cannon, founder of Rachel Cannon Limited, to dish on her favorite ways to play with the color of the year and add a little joy to any space. You’re sure to be inspired by her advice and a roundup of our favorite peachy-keen spaces, whether picking up a paintbrush or simply adding a few new accessories.

Going all out with floor-to-ceiling color can be beautifully rewarding, especially when traditional tones like white and gray feel a tad too neutral. Rachel exalts Peach Fuzz’s cozy appeal and its potential to make a bedroom or a small powder room feel more inviting. Adding a wash of peach to the walls will instantly warm up the space.

Take inspiration from two trends by choosing peachy wallpaper in a whimsical print for a small area, like a powder bath or laundry room. The soft hue makes it easier to seamlessly layer patterns and textures in the way of furnishings and accessories.

Wallpaper can be an inspired choice, but small doses of Peach Fuzz also make a lovely impact. Rachel suggests incorporating the color with pillows, linens, or rugs. When paired with interesting textiles or glimmering accents, the cheery shade shines all the more.

Adding warm, classic tones to a room can instantly boost its appeal, making it a more positive and visually stimulating space to dwell in. Though it can be a bold design choice, it is one that pays off. “When clients are willing to take a big risk, especially when they are considering using color and not neutrals, they usually are so much more excited about the end result,” Rachel says. “Go all in! Big risk equals big reward.”
