A Napkin Rosette How-To

Sometimes a table setting calls for an extra-special touch. You have the flowers arranged, the china selected, and the perfect flatware laid out, but you need something more—a napkin treatment to really draw together your design. Enter the rosette napkin fold—the ideal accent when your décor calls for added feminine polish. This napkin rosette paired beautifully with the pinks and purples of our Steel Magnolias party. Now you can create your own, with this easy-to-follow how-to.

Napkin Rosette How-To

We have two different options, depending upon the style that best suits your table—one with leaves and one without.

Option One – With Leaves:

Step One:
Carefully press your napkin of choice, and then lay it right side down on the table.

Step Two:
Fold the napkin in half diagonally.

Step Three:
Starting at the folded edge, roll the napkin three-fourths of the way up. Then turn the napkin over so that the roll is facedown on the table.

Step Four:
Choose one end of the napkin, and begin rolling along the existing roll edge. This will make the rosette, so roll as tightly or loosely as you wish.

Step Five:
When you finish rolling the napkin, tuck in the end.

Step Six:
Turn the rosette facedown, and pull the two corners remaining outside the roll away from each other to create leaves. Set in a small bowl or plate, and enjoy.

Option Two – Without Leaves:

Follow Step One and Step Two above.

Step Three:
Starting at the folded edge, roll the napkin all the way to the end so that the entire napkin is part of the roll.

Follow Steps Four and Five above, and you are finished. This option creates a sleeker look that pairs nicely with natural greens.
