Lisa Frederick (LF): I’m thankful to have had the chance to spend more time with family and friends this past year. It was a treat to be together again after spending most of 2020 apart.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
LF: I’m looking forward to traveling more in the New Year (I hope!). Exploring new places is one of my greatest joys.
What was your favorite Southern Lady feature or issue from 2021?
LF: I love our annual New Looks for Old China feature in the March/April issue. It’s so much fun to see dated patterns totally transformed, and it always inspires me to do something fresh with my dinnerware.
Marie Baxley (MB): I am thankful for the joy derived from a happy, healthy, productive family and all of the supportive, loving friends whose company I enjoy.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
MB: 2022 is the year I downsize and recycle all of the things I don’t use.
What was your favorite Southern Lady feature or issue from 2021?
MB: It’s hard to pick a favorite, but in the September issue, I loved exploring early 20th century New Orleans in a garden story and in a piece on antique postcards. The postcards were extra special because some of them were my grandmother’s. It was fun to go back in time.
Ashley Shaw (AS): As our staff continues to work from home, I’m thankful for the extra moments I’m able to spend with my husband and our sweet dog.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
AS: I look forward to traveling safely again in 2022, not only to uncover hidden gems across our region worthy of sharing with readers but also to visit far-flung friends and family.
What was your favorite Southern Lady feature or issue from 2021?
AS: One of my favorite 2021 features includes the outdoor gathering in the prismatic flower fields at 1818 Farms for our May/June issue—a table set with mismatched floral china amid blossoms galore and a delicious menu to boot. Another top pick is the March/April tour of Accents of the South founder and interior designer Beverly Farrington’s home. A longtime friend of Southern Lady, Beverly shares our team’s love for beautiful blooms, gracious living, and four-legged companions; her German shepherd, Bonnie, makes an appearance in the story.
