In the “Seasonal Settings” feature of our January/February 2023 issue, a pink linen rosette at each place setting offers a lovely finishing touch amid a scheme of black and white. Follow this step-by-step tutorial to fold a napkin into a dainty flower-shaped accent.
Rose Napkin Fold How-To
STEP 1
Fold a square linen in half to create a large triangle. Roll the long edge or base of the triangle toward the point, leaving a small triangle of fabric flat on the table.
STEP 2
Beginning on one end, tightly roll up the long edge to within about 4 inches of the opposite end.
STEP 3
A flat base allows you to stand up the napkin. Continue wrapping the tail around and then tuck it in near the base.
STEP 4
Separate the top points to fold down each piece of fabric.
STEP 5
Flip over the design and adjust the pieces to resemble leaves.
