Interior designer Debi Davis creates a look she calls “livable elegance” in this Arkansas home for a family of four. Opting for serene shades of soft blue and gray, Debi layered eye-catching pieces for a chic take on traditional style.
Without sacrificing aesthetics, Debi chose durable materials and performance fabrics for the seating and rugs throughout. “Fabulous and functional always seem to work together best,” she says. “Good design should make your lifestyle function very easily.” The subdued color palette gains interest from creative pattern play, abstract art, dashes of gold, and a variety of textures.
Creamy marble countertops set the tone in the airy kitchen, as geometric lines on the cabinetry and sleek lanterns add modish flair. Darker stained furnishings like the counter stools impart richness and ground the space.
The tranquil primary bedroom emphasizes ivory and gold over blue tones for a luminous look. Silk damask draperies and an artful chandelier dress up a vaulted ceiling with white beams. The regal headboard is from Debi’s furniture line, Reborn Relics Home, and coordinates with a set of lamps converted from antique candlesticks. “These pieces, as well as one-of-a-kind antiques, are what make the home design special,” says Debi.
