Looking for a sweet and simple accent for your Valentine’s Day tablescape? Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to create the paper-wrapped posy featured in the “Whispers of Love” story of our January/February 2024 issue.
Tabletop Posy How-To Supplies:
- Pages from vintage poetry books
- Glue dots
- Pretty ribbon
- Scissors
- Assorted Antique Ephemera or small gift tags
- Hole punch
- Sprigs of baby’s breath
Step 1
Roll a rectangular piece of paper into a cone shape, securing it with glue dots. We used one near the top opening and another at the base of the cone.

Step 2
Punch a single hole close to the edge of the decorative ephemera and then string it on a strand of long ribbon.

Step 3
Carefully tie the ribbon in a bow around the paper cone, trim excess, and secure in place with a glue dot. Tuck in sprigs of baby’s breath for a token of affection that doubles as a dainty place-setting topper and special valentine for gathered guests.
